Second Arrest Made in Murder of Polish Man Found in SW11
Police have arrested a second suspect in the brutal murder of 32-year-old Piotr Woroniecki, who was found dead in November 2017. The 28-year-old man was detained on Tuesday, 9 July, on suspicion of murder and burglary but has since been released under investigation.
Earlier, a 29-year-old man arrested in January also walked free under investigation. The case remains open as detectives continue their probe.
Victim Found with Fatal Neck Compression
Piotr, a Polish national, was discovered unresponsive on Parma Crescent, SW11, in the early hours of 23 November 2017. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The post mortem revealed he died from compression to the neck, indicating he had been held in a prolonged headlock.
Links to Organised Crime?
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell, leading the investigation, shared new details. “Piotr was last seen alive at 11.32pm on 22 November near New Covent Garden Market, appearing in good spirits. Hours later, he was found dead three miles away on Parma Crescent.”
A large stash of Class A drugs and nearly £100,000 in cash was found in his flat, hinting at possible criminal ties and a link to organised crime syndicates — though nothing has been confirmed yet.
“I still want to hear from anyone who may have seen Piotr that night or knows anything about why he was killed,” said DCI Cranwell.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward to help crack this chilling case.
