The Metropolitan Police have opened a serious rape investigation after a woman in her twenties reported being sexually assaulted in Mitcham town centre on Tuesday, September 12th. Officers rushed to the scene around 2pm following urgent reports of the attack.

The shocking assault allegedly took place on a roundabout just off Park Lane in Croydon. Police arrived quickly to secure the area and begin their inquiry into the distressing event.
