Hero Cops Save Baby’s Life with Quick CPR on St George’s Avenue
An 11-month-old baby was rushed to hospital after going limp and unresponsive at a home on St George’s Avenue early Monday morning.
Kent Police were called at 8.04 a.m. on July 12, 2022. Two officers, just two minutes away and finishing their shift, dashed to the scene despite clocking off.
Life-Saving CPR Brings Baby Back from the Brink
On arrival, the officers sprang into action, performing CPR. Miraculously, by 8.15 a.m., the baby was conscious and breathing again. The South East Coast Ambulance Service quickly took over and rushed the infant to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officer Praised for Going Above and Beyond
“The quick-thinking actions of these two officers undoubtedly helped save this child’s life,” said Inspector Stephen Callow of Swale’s Local Policing Team. “While they may see it as ‘all part of the job,’ they went far beyond the call of duty to secure the best outcome.”
“Our officers do incredible work daily, much of it unseen. This life-saving incident is a powerful reminder of that.”
