Armed Police Seize Loaded Gun in Tottenham Postcode War
Tottenham erupted into chaos on Thursday night as armed police swooped on a white VW Polo during a dramatic stop on The Roundway. Locals, locked in a fierce postcode gang war, claim the police have lost control of the streets.
Road Closure and Armed Arrests
The road was shut both ways for hours during the operation, only reopening just after 3am on Friday. Residents reported seeing around ten police vehicles and heavily armed officers descending on the area, targeting an active member of the notorious NPK gang terrorising Tottenham.
“Police have no control here – the gangs run it,” one local claimed.
Loaded Gun and Ammo Found in Vehicle
Officers detained a suspected gunman following a vehicle search that uncovered a loaded handgun used in recent crimes. The weapon had bullets, including one in the chamber, ready to fire. Forensic teams seized the VW Polo and recovered additional items from the car for further investigation.
A man caught at the scene was arrested on suspicion of firearm possession and is now being questioned at a police station.
More Raids and Arrests in Tottenham
In addition, police conducted two more raids at Tottenham properties. Details remain scarce as a Met Police spokesman declined to elaborate on the operations, simply confirming, “It was just an armed stop.
However, an official update early Friday confirmed two men were arrested after the vehicle stop in The Roundway, N17. Shortly after, a third man was arrested during a warrant execution at a Fairview Road property, N15.
