Police Hunt Driver and Burglary Suspect After £11,000 Arcade Heist
Masked Burglar Ties Up Staff, Steals Big Bucks
In the early hours of June 18, trouble struck the Golden Touch Amusements on Above Bar Street. Just before 7am, a lone staff member was confronted by a thief who forced them to tie up their hands before making off with a whopping £11,000 from the safe.
Thankfully, the staff member escaped without injury, but police are now on the hunt for the culprit and a mysterious driver spotted nearby.
Dark Blue Honda Integra Raises Eyebrows
Officers are keen to track down the driver of a dark blue Honda Integra seen close to the arcade during the burglary. The car stands out thanks to a rear spoiler, blacked-out rear windows, an off-set front number plate, and a unique distinguishing ‘1’ on it.
DC Christopher Barrow urged: “Have you seen this car parked in your area? Do you know who owns it? We believe the driver holds vital clues to cracking this case.”
CCTV Footage Offers a Lead on Burglary Suspect
The police have also released an image of a man spotted near the scene wearing a camo coat with a hood and sunglasses. They’re desperate to identify and speak with him.
If you spotted this figure or the distinct Honda Integra near Above Bar Street on June 18 around 6.50am, police want to hear from you.
