Masked Thugs Smash Into HSBC in Hedge End in Broad Daylight Heist
Police Release Shocking CCTV Images of Getaway Cars
Police hunting brazen robbers who targeted HSBC in Hedge End have unleashed CCTV snaps of the getaway vehicles. The footage shows a white Audi A3 and a dark grey Vauxhall Astra cruising down Lower Northam Road just before 10:30am yesterday.
Vauxhall Rams Bank Entrance as Three Men Storm In
In a daring move, the Vauxhall Astra screeched into the bank, smashing the front and causing major damage. One man jumped out, joined by two others waiting nearby. All three, wearing balaclavas and described as white males, stormed inside. Minutes later, they emerged clutching cash stolen from behind the till.
Getaway in Audi as Vauxhall Abandoned at Scene
The trio hopped into the white Audi A3—bearing a 15 plate—and sped off towards the roundabout at the end of Lower Northam Road. The damaged Vauxhall was left abandoned at the scene.
Investigators Plead for Witnesses and Photos
Detective Sergeant Claire Shawley said, “This happened mid-morning when Hedge End village was busy, so there could be many witnesses. We want to hear from anyone who saw either car before or after the robbery.”
“We know some witnesses captured photos or videos on their phones. We urge them to come forward – this could be vital evidence.”
Police have also released an image of a distinctive steel beer barrel left behind. DS Shawley added, “We believe this barrel, marked by a white and two blue stripes, may have been stolen recently. We want to hear from anyone missing one.”
