Violent Assault Leaves National Express Driver with Broken Ankle

Two thugs dragged a National Express coach driver from his vehicle before brutally attacking him in Nottingham city centre. The driver suffered a broken ankle in the unprovoked assault outside a bus shelter on Station Street.

Dispute Over Tickets Turns Ugly

The trouble started when the men tried to board a coach to Birmingham without a valid ticket or enough fare. An argument quickly escalated, forcing the pair to manhandle the driver off the coach and violently assault him.

Police Release CCTV and Appeal for Information

The ugly incident happened between 4.35am and 4.50am on 12 June 2022, outside Trent 1. Officers have now released CCTV images of the suspects, urging the public to come forward.

“This was an unpleasant incident and we simply will not tolerate attacks like this on hardworking people who are simply doing their job,” said Police Constable Joseph Blake.

“We believe the people in these images could have valuable information that could assist our inquiries. It is really important that anyone who recognises them gets in touch with us, so that we can ask them some questions.”
