Drugs Drama at Ryde Seafront: Man Found Unconscious as Mate Shoots Up Nearby
Police on the Isle of Wight have launched a probe and sealed off a busy toilet block near Ryde Pier cafe this afternoon. The drama unfolded just after 4pm when a passerby found a man unconscious on the floor and raised the alarm.
One Man Down, Another Arrested Injecting Drugs in Public
While one man lay unconscious, his companion continued to shoot up drugs with a syringe. Officers quickly swooped and arrested the second man on the spot.
Air Ambulance Called But Hospital Trip By Land
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled to help, but the unconscious man was later taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
A spokesman for the Isle of Wight ambulance service said: “We were called to treat one person who has since been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital following an incident in the toilets at Western Gardens.”
