Sussex Police are on the case after a string of distraction thefts at the Lloyds Bank on South Road, Haywards Heath. Elderly customers were targeted while using the ATM on January 6 and February 11.

The crook used clever distractions to throw senior citizens off during ATM transactions, allowing them to interfere with withdrawals unnoticed. Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to identify and question.

Authorities warn folks to avoid using the outdoor ATM if possible. Instead, customers should withdraw cash inside the bank where staff can keep an eye out. Police have also published tips online to help protect against ATM thefts.

Suspect: Slim, 30s, Dons Black Coat

The suspect is described as a slim man in his 30s, about 5’8” tall, wearing dark clothing including a black coat. Police urge anyone who recognizes him to speak up.
