ITV Pulls Jeremy Kyle Show Amid Tragedy
ITV has yanked the hit daytime show Jeremy Kyle off the air after Portsmouth man Steve Dymond, 63, took his own life following a failed lie detector test on the programme.
Steve, a building machine operator, overdosed on drugs just ten days after appearing on the show where he tried to prove to fiancée Jane Callaghan that he hadn’t been unfaithful. He failed the polygraph, and the couple split soon after filming.

ITV bosses swiftly removed the episode from the schedule and pulled it from the ITV Player. A spokesperson said: “The show has been taken off air and is under review following the tragic news of Steve’s death. The episode will not be broadcast, and all filming has been halted.”
Steve’s body was discovered by his landlady at his Portsmouth flat. She alerted the Jeremy Kyle aftercare team after finding a number in his phone linked to the show. They subsequently got in touch with Jane, who initially believed the call was a hoax.
