Brutal Attack on Geese Shocks St Paul’s Cray Park
A peaceful scene at St Paul’s Cray park near the Bull Pub turned ugly when a gang of youths launched a savage attack on local geese. For a week, residents admired the protective parents and adorable goslings. But last night, the charm was shattered by mindless cruelty.
Disturbing Violence Caught on Park Grounds
One local witnessed suspicious activity and decided to follow the group. They spotted a lad tormenting a goose, only to find the poor bird bleeding heavily from a head and wing injury shortly after. It emerged the same group, about six boys and one girl, had been terrorising the geese for over an hour — armed with catapults.
“They regathered and continued despite being caught,” the witness revealed. A nearby resident also spotted the youths earlier and chased them off. But the damage was done.
Community Rallying to Protect Wildlife
Sadly, the injured goose couldn’t be caught and is expected to die from blood loss. The incident has been reported to the RSPCA and the police given the weapons involved and the deliberate nature of the attacks.
Locals recall previous problems, with RSPCA signs warning youths against rock-throwing still visible in the park. “If you know your child has a catapult and visits the park, please warn them,” pleaded a resident.
Residents Unite Against Youth Violence
Several locals came together to aid the injured animals and now remain vigilant for any suspicious behaviour. The community is determined to protect this beautiful park and its wildlife from further harm.
