Seven-Year-Old Cancer Warrior Shatters Birthday Card Record
Amelia Kolpa, a brave seven-year-old fighting a rare cancer, asked for just 8,000 birthday cards to celebrate turning eight this March. What happened next blew everyone away.
From 8,000 to Over 90,000 Cards Flood In
Instead of 8,000, Amelia was bombarded with more than 90,000 cards sent from across the UK and beyond. She smashed the record for the most birthday cards ever received – by a huge margin.
Nationwide Love and Support Overwhelms Amelia
The simple plea sparked an overwhelming wave of kindness. Schools, community groups, and strangers all rallied to send heartfelt messages, cards, and handmade artwork to brighten Amelia’s special day.
“There is so much love and support for my niece,” said Charmaine Grace, Amelia’s aunt and the campaign organiser. “It’s beautiful to know everyone’s with us on this journey. There’s still humanity in the world.”
“She’s been undergoing treatment since she was two and a half. Most of her birthdays are spent in hospital, so she wanted to do something big this year.”
“She’s so happy to have all the cards. She just smiles, and that is lovely. To us, it’s just a card but it means the world to her.”
Amelia’s Birthday Plan: Giant Collage of Love
Amelia is now gearing up to open every single card and create a massive collage to hang on her wall. It’ll be a stunning tribute to the incredible love and support that lifted her spirits during tough times.
