A terrifying ordeal erupted on Devonport Road, Shepherd’s Bush, early this Saturday morning (20th January 2024). Police officers and a bystander were rushed to hospital after a man sprayed them with a noxious substance during a tense standoff.
Police Storm House Over Safety Concerns
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were responding to worries about someone’s safety inside a property on Devonport Road. They decided to forcibly enter the house to check on the individual’s welfare.
But what greeted them was far from routine. The suspect inside the house suddenly unleashed a hazardous spray, attacking both the officers and a member of the public present.
Officers’ Bravery Sees Suspect Caught
Despite being targeted with a harmful substance, the cops showed incredible guts and professionalism, quickly subduing the attacker. He was arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).
All victims, including officers and the civilian, were taken to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening, offering some relief after the shocking incident.
