Man Arrested for Racially Aggravated Attack on Sikh Woman in West Midlands
Suspect Held After Brutal Assault
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of rape following a racially motivated attack on a Sikh woman in the West Midlands last week.
The suspect was snapped up on the evening of September 14, 2025, and is still in custody as police dig deeper. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was attacked by two white men while on her way to work.
Police Issue Warning, Community Rallies
Chief Superintendent Kim Madill said: “This is a significant development in the investigation, and we want to thank the community for their continuing support. The investigation remains ongoing, and we urge people not to speculate as we work to identify and trace all those who may have been involved.”
The victim has been offered support and remains anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the attack.
Sikh Community Demands Justice and Safety
Emotions ran high as members of the Sikh community gathered for a protest in the area. Kuldeep Singh Deol, ex-president of Guru Nanak Gurdwara, slammed the attack as “shameful” and blasted politicians for failing communities.
He said: “Our politicians are failing us – creating divides instead of building bridges and solutions.”
The victim, speaking through Sikh Youth UK, expressed heartfelt thanks to her family and community: “All I was doing was going about my day on my way to work, and what has happened has deeply affected us.”
