Six Arrested in Massive Tower Hamlets Drug Raids
At dawn, police swooped on ten homes across Tower Hamlets, arresting six men and seizing a stash of suspected Class A drugs. The raids are part of Operation Continuum, a targeted crackdown on drug crime shaking up East London’s streets.
Operation Continuum Cracks Down Hard
Launched to tackle persistent drug dealing and violence in Tower Hamlets and Hackney, Operation Continuum saw officers storm multiple addresses this morning. Six men aged 20 to 30 were hauled in on suspicion of drug offences and are now held at an east London police station.
A search of their homes uncovered a haul of suspected Class A substances, furthering the fight against the drugs plague in the area.
Police Team Up to Tackle Drugs and Violence
Leading the charge is the Central East Gangs Task Force, backed by Tower Hamlets Council, the Met’s Dog Unit, and local officers from several specialised units. Together, they’re waging a no-nonsense war on supply networks and community crime.
“This morning’s warrants show the Met’s zero tolerance for drug crime,” said Detective Inspector Sean Lyons. “We’re responding to local concerns and disrupting drug supply to cut violent crime. Operation Continuum is a success and will continue until our streets are safer.”
John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets, added: “Residents worry about drug dealing and use, so we’re working closely with police to disrupt the dealers who blight our communities. I’m committed to making Tower Hamlets safer, and we’ll keep hitting those breaking the law.”
