Body Found Floating Near Dorking Park Sparks Police Probe

Fire crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue rushed to Rothes Road in Dorking after a grim discovery just after 7.30am on Monday, November 6. A member of the public spotted a body floating in water close to Meadowbank Recreation Ground and alerted police.

Police Lock Down River Bank

Officers quickly sealed off a stretch of riverbank with police tape, setting up a wide cordon around the area. A large blue tarpaulin now hides the scene near a riverside seating area as investigations get underway.

Specialist Rescue Teams Join Search

Fire crews from Dorking and Leatherhead, alongside a specialist water rescue boat, were deployed to assist. Surrey Police have not yet revealed how the victim ended up in the water or how long the body had been there.

Aerial Surveillance and Ongoing Investigations

Detectives called in backup from NAPAS in Redhill to conduct aerial surveillance over the site. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
