Man Arrested After Shocking Eastbourne Stabbing

Police have arrested a 58-year-old man in Eastbourne on suspicion of attempted murder, following a suspected stabbing on Sunday, 9 February.

Victim Airlifted to Hospital

Emergency services rushed to Hazelwood Avenue at around 1.25pm after reports of a man seriously injured in a stabbing. The victim, a 57-year-old local man, was airlifted to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Suspect in Custody, Investigation Underway

The 58-year-old arrested faces charges including attempted murder, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for police. He remains in custody as inquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Di Lewis said: “The victim is stable and under medical care. The suspect is known to the victim, and police are working hard to piece together exactly what happened.”

“There’s no wider threat to the public. We are not searching for anyone else at this time. However, expect increased police presence in the area while the investigation unfolds.”
