Man Charged After Brutal Attack on Police Officer in Waltham Forest
An 18-year-old has been charged with actual bodily harm after assaulting a police officer in Waltham Forest.
Moped Crash Sparks Chaotic Foot Chase
Riley Hope, from Leytonstone, collided with a small post on a moped in Francis Road, E10, at around 8:25am on Thursday, 23 January. Instead of stopping, he fled on foot, sparking a tense chase.
Officer Assaulted and Hospitalised
During the pursuit, Hope attacked the pursuing officer before running off. The victim was rushed to an east London hospital by the London Ambulance Service with facial injuries.
Next Stop: Court
Hope was charged later that day and is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 January.
