Baby-Killer Aaron Goodman Stabs Prisoner with Screwdriver in Bloody Cell Attack
Convicted baby-killer Aaron Goodman, 43, faces extra jail time after stabbing a fellow inmate with a screwdriver in a savage attack that nearly killed him. The brutal assault unfolded inside Albany Prison on the Isle of Wight, the Crown Court heard.
Cell Clash Turns Deadly
Goodman, serving life for the horrific murder of a baby, grabbed a six-inch screwdriver to fix a cupboard door in his cell. But things turned nasty when fellow prisoner William Dolan invaded Goodman’s personal space. The laundry worker had entered Goodman’s cell to collect washing, sparking tension.
Feeling intimidated and threatened, Goodman lashed out with the screwdriver, plunging it deep into Dolan’s abdomen. Emergency medics rushed Dolan to St Mary’s Hospital, where he required life-saving treatment after the crude weapon pierced his body.
Grotesque Past of Baby Murderer
Goodman’s dark history shocked the court. In 2002, he was jailed for the brutal death of baby Samuel Back. The youngster suffered 63 injuries, including a ruptured bowel from severe beatings and stomps, a bite mark, and traces of cocaine in his blood. Disturbingly, Samuel’s blood-soaked cot featured a stained Winnie the Pooh poster as a haunting backdrop.
Guilty Verdict Delivered
An Isle of Wight jury found Goodman guilty of wounding Dolan. The twisted inmate will return to court soon for sentencing, where more years behind bars are expected to be tacked onto his life sentence.
