Double Murder Probe Launched After Deadly e-Bike Crash in Surrey

Surrey Police have opened a double murder investigation following a fatal collision involving an e-bike on the A316 southbound slip road onto the M3. The crash, which happened just before 1am on Monday, July 22, claimed the lives of two men in their twenties.

Four Arrested in Wake of Tragedy

In a rapid response, officers have arrested four suspects. A 29-year-old man from Sunbury faces murder charges. Two other men, both 24, from Walton-on-Thames and Feltham are held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Police also detained a 24-year-old woman from North Yorkshire on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Investigation Continues as Police Seek Witnesses

Detective Inspector Debbie Birch, leading the inquiry, said, “Our thoughts are with the families of the two victims at this incredibly difficult time. Our investigation is still in its early stages, and our officers are working around the clock to establish the circumstances and gather evidence.”

Reports say the fatal crash involved a collision with a black e-bike. Emergency crews arrived quickly; one man died at the scene, while the second passed away shortly after being rushed to hospital. The incident caused major disruption in the area.

Police Appeal for CCTV and Dashcam Footage

Authorities are urging anyone who was near Sunbury Cross between 12:40am and 12:50am on July 22 to come forward. DI Birch added, “If you have CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that might shed light on this tragic event, please get in touch.”

Police are also keen to trace the movements of a black Ford Ranger spotted nearby at the time, believing it could be key to piecing together what happened before the crash.

This shocking incident has rattled the local community. The force is calling on anyone with information to step forward and help bring justice for the victims.
