Kent Police moved fast after a break-in at Sports Direct on Chatham’s High Street. Just 30 minutes after the alarm sounded, two suspected burglars were in custody.

Forced Entry and Stolen Trainers

Suspects Caught Hiding Nearby

When police arrived, the suspects had bolted. But a swift search of nearby streets and alleyways paid off. The two men, aged 45 and 51 and both from Chatham, were found hiding in a bush. They were arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for theft, and possession of a bladed article in public.

Both men have since been released pending further investigation.
