Taxi Driver Fatally Stabbed in Solihull – Man Arrested
A man has been arrested after a taxi driver was found fatally stabbed in Solihull early Tuesday morning. Mohammed Istakhar, 44, was discovered with serious injuries around 6:45am at the junction of Braggs Farm Lane and Lady Lane. Sadly, nothing could save him.
Tragic Morning Turned Deadly
Police believe Mr Istakhar had just driven a fare from Birmingham city centre to Solihull before the fatal attack. An 18-year-old man voluntarily attended a police station on Wednesday evening and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Family Pay Heartbreaking Tribute
“Our daddy, our hero. Our hard-working father has been taken so quickly from us. He was our world. So loved and respected by the whole community,” the family said.
“He leaves behind his grieving wife, five children, elderly mother, three sisters, one brother, and beloved pets. Our martyr will live on and has set an example for his children. He will never be forgotten. See you on the other side, daddy.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood from Force CID said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Istakhar’s family at this tragic time. We are working hard to piece together exactly what happened.”
“We have made one arrest and are carrying out door-to-door inquiries, examining CCTV, and conducting forensic investigations across several locations.”
“Anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us is urged to get in touch immediately.”
