Teen Terror Plot Thwarted in North London Arrest
London police swooped at midnight to arrest an 18-year-old man suspected of plotting terrorist acts. The Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command (SO15) made the dramatic arrest at around 00:10hrs on Friday, 18 May.
Armed Officers Back Up Tense Night-Time Bust
The suspect was taken into custody on a street in north London with the help of armed officers. He is now being held at a south London police station.
Suspect Held Under Terrorism Act
The arrest was made under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, which covers the preparation of terrorist acts. Police continue their investigations. No further details have been released.
