Knife-Wielding Thug Robs Teen in Portsmouth Park
Police in Hampshire are hunting a man who mugged a 17-year-old boy in Portsmouth. The shocking robbery happened between 8.45pm and 8.55pm on Monday 6 August, as the teen walked along Sydenham Terrace.
Teen Threatened with Knife, Bag Stolen
The victim was confronted by a stranger who pulled a knife and snatched his black leather Nike bag. The attacker then fled the scene, leaving officers scrambling for clues.

- White male, in his 40s
- About 5ft 10ins tall
- Overweight build with a shaven head
- Notable tattoo around his belly button
- Wearing shorts, carrying a white T-shirt
Detective Constable Sharon Lewry urged locals: “Did you see what happened? Maybe you spotted this man hanging around the area or know who he is?”
Warning to Portsmouth Residents
DC Lewry added: “This appears to be an isolated incident, but we urge everyone to stay alert after dark. Stick to busy, well-lit streets and look out for one another.”
