Teen Girl Grabbed and Attacked at Southampton Bus Stop
15-Year-Old Targeted Near Itchen Bridge
Hampshire police are hunting for answers after a 15-year-old girl was grabbed and sexually assaulted at a bus stop near Itchen Bridge in Southampton. The attack happened around 4.30pm on Saturday, 14 July, on the Woolston side of the bridge.
Suspect in Custody
Officers have arrested a 70-year-old man from Essex on suspicion of sexual assault linked to the incident. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Hampshire Constabulary warned the public against taking matters into their own hands amid Facebook posts about the attack. They urge anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident 641.
“We are actively investigating the assault and exploring possible links to previous reports,” police said.
