Swedish Woman Arrested at Gatwick on Terror Suspicion
Police at Gatwick Airport swooped on a 40-year-old Swedish woman on Thursday afternoon, July 4. She was stopped at 2.13pm after arriving on a flight from Italy.
Held Under Terrorism Act
Officers detained her under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000 for questioning. She was then formally arrested under Section 41 on suspicion of preparing or instigating terrorist acts.
Still in Custody as Probe Continues
The woman remains in police custody while enquiries into the case are ongoing. Authorities have made no further comment at this stage.
