Lorry Driver Busted for Smuggling Migrants Out of the UK
A lorry driver has been charged after being caught trying to smuggle migrants out of the UK, following a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation.
Stopped Near Dover Port
Officers from the NCA, supported by police colleagues, pulled over a heavy goods vehicle just outside Dover port at around 1.30pm on 1st October.
Four Migrants Found Hidden in Trailer
Inside the trailer, officers discovered four adult men — two Bangladeshis, one Indian, and one Egyptian. All are suspected of being in the UK illegally and were handed over to immigration authorities.
Driver Charged Over Immigration Breach
The driver, 35-year-old Marius Halmaghe, has been officially charged with facilitating an attempted breach of immigration law by individuals who are non-EU citizens.
