Tragic Pedestrian Death in Maghull After Collision with HGV
Police are probing a fatal crash in Maghull after a man in his 50s was struck by a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) last night.
Fatal Collision on Northway
The shocking smash happened around 8.10pm on July 10th near the junction of Northway and Dodds Lane. Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of the collision between the pedestrian and the lorry. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.
Investigation Underway
The HGV driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with officers from Merseyside Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Sgt Steve Smith said: “Unfortunately, a man has lost his life as a result of last night’s incident. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are urging anyone who was driving along Northway around the time of the crash, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward. They want to piece together exactly how the tragedy unfolded.
