Tragic Van Crash Claims Life of Talented Carpenter Matej Gruber
Emergency services rushed to the A3054, Ningwood Hill, at 1.22am on Saturday 23 July after a van crashed in a single-vehicle collision.
The driver, 45-year-old Matej Gruber from Newport, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute
Matej’s loved ones described him as an “incredibly talented carpenter” who specialised in building shepherd’s huts.
“He was a devoted dad to Jessica Gruber and partner to Trudy Waughman,” the family said. “He will be deeply missed by them and all his friends.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are investigating the cause of the crash and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
