Blackheath Murder Probe: Two Arrested, One Released in Amanda Gretton Case

Police investigations into the murder of Amanda Gretton, 57, from Catford, south London, continue to unfold. Two suspects have been bailed, while another has been released without charge.

Two Suspects Bailed in Amanda Gretton Murder Inquiry

A 49-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder last Monday, 8 July, have been released on bail. They are expected to return to police in early August for questioning.

Third Suspect Freed With No Further Action

A 40-year-old man, detained a day earlier on Sunday, 7 July, was freed without any charges. His release narrows the focus of the Met’s ongoing investigation.

Crime Scene Closed After Body Found in Blackheath Garage

Police launched a major investigation after a body was discovered inside a garage on Prendergast Road, Blackheath, around 5pm on Friday, 5 July. The death is being treated as suspicious. Amanda had been reported missing on 15 May by her family.

Despite a post-mortem at Greenwich mortuary on 7 July, no conclusive cause of death was established. The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to work the case.
