Tragic Crash After Police Chase Claims Two Lives
Tommy Sharp, 29, and Paddy Connors, 36, lost their lives following a dramatic police pursuit on September 23, 2020. Sharp was behind the wheel of a Mercedes that refused to stop for officers.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Devastating Collision
Police spotted the Mercedes and gave chase in their VWs. The chase ended in a collision, leaving Sharp and Connors unconscious.
Officers rushed to the scene and performed CPR on both men before paramedics arrived. Despite the desperate attempt to save them, Connors was pronounced dead at the scene. Sharp died shortly after being rushed to hospital.
Investigation Upheld Police Actions
On February 1, 2023, spokespeople said:
“Any loss of life is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with the men’s family and loved ones, as well as all those affected by this deeply distressing incident.”
“Our investigation was thorough and independent of the police. We found the officers acted in line with their training and followed all relevant policies during the pursuit.”
