King Appoints Amanda Parker as New Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire

The King has named Mrs Amanda Parker, DL, as the new Lord-Lieutenant for Lancashire. She steps into the role following the retirement of The Lord Shuttleworth, KG, KCVO, on 2nd August 2023.
Service and Steel: Meet Amanda Parker
Amanda Parker is no stranger to hard work. She’s spent years juggling voluntary service with managing her family estate’s business side and launching two IT and AV companies. She’s been a magistrate for nearly 20 years and champions youth through sports, especially hockey.
Championing Communities and Causes
Mrs Parker’s passion doesn’t stop there. She chairs National Crimebeat, a charity fighting youth crime. She supports several causes as a patron or trustee, including:
- Whalley Educational Foundation – community education spaces
- Nightsafe – Blackburn’s homeless youth charity
- Saheliyaan – aid for South Asian female abuse victims in Chorley
- Active Lancashire – promoting healthier lifestyles
Her dedication earned her the role of High Sheriff in 2015-16.
Family Life in Clitheroe
Amanda lives near Clitheroe with her husband, Robert. They have two grown-up children.
