Three Bodies Found After Cardiff Night Out Tragedy
Police in Wales confirmed a grim discovery this morning: three bodies were found during the search for five friends who vanished after a night out in Cardiff.
Friends Missing After Nightclub Visit
Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, Darcy Ross, 21, along with Rafel Jeanne and Shane Loughlin, disappeared after a night out. They were last seen early on Saturday, March 4, in Llanederyn, Cardiff. The group had reportedly visited Newport’s popular Muffler nightclub.
Tragically, Gwent Police later found their car crashed off the A48. Three of the five occupants inside the Volkswagen Tiguan were killed in the accident. Police have yet to officially confirm the identities.
Family Slams Police Response
Sophie Russon’s mother, Anna Certowicz, blasted the police for a slow response. “They didn’t appear to mind,” she told the Daily Mail. “Because they were doing nothing, I had to drive to Cardiff and knock on doors myself. It was extremely aggravating.”
Anna says officers seemed dismissive, assuming Sophie was just hungover, despite Sophie being a responsible bank worker who “hasn’t taken a day off in three years.”
She added police even told her to “stop ringing them” when she reported her daughter missing. The three girls had been friends since childhood.
Ongoing Investigation and Support for Families
After a desperate weekend of searching, police recovered the crashed vehicle just after midnight in Cardiff’s St Mellons area.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We understand how upsetting it is when a loved one goes missing. We have seen media reports about this and are working closely with the families to gather more information and address any concerns.”
