Brave Driver Scares Off Thugs After Shocking Horlicks Bridge Mugging
Just after 8pm on Wednesday, a 22-year-old man was attacked on Horlicks Bridge, Stoke Poges Lane. Two men suddenly appeared – one from the front, the other from the side – and punched him in the face before robbing cash from his pocket.
The victim was shoved into the road and threatened for more money. The assault left him with a lost tooth and damage to another, needing urgent dental treatment.
Hero Driver Steps In to Stop Attackers in Their Tracks
A small white car, likely a Hyundai, pulled up nearby. The driver, an Asian man in his forties, shouted at the thugs, warning he’d call the police if they didn’t leave. The offenders fled down Lansdowne Road, and the driver urged the victim to head straight home.
Descriptions of the Thugs
- Offender 1: Tall, slim, late twenties, short dark hair, small nose. Wearing a grey tracksuit, black hooded coat, and pink & green Nike trainers.
- Offender 2: Shorter, white, slim, around 5ft 9ins, about 40 years old with a small beard and short hair. Dressed like the first and carrying a black drawstring bag.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Hero Driver
“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this distressing incident, especially since the victim has learning difficulties and was injured,” said Detective Constable Simran Jaswal.
“We’re also keen to speak to the driver who helped the victim as he may have crucial information.”
