Brutal Crowbar Attack in Stansted – Police Hunt Masked Gang
Detectives are on the hunt after a terrifying assault in Uttlesford in the early hours of Sunday, 23 January.
Vehicle Rams Parked Car Before Chilling Attack
At around 1.15am, a vehicle smashed into a dark grey hatchback parked in Gall End Lane, Stansted. Witnesses say a group of men jumped out and attacked the driver through the car window using what looked like a crowbar or similar weapon.
Victim Hospitalised with Serious Injuries
The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, though police say they are not life-threatening or life-changing. The attackers fled, all dressed in dark clothes and face coverings, leaving chaos behind.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Detective Sergeant Luke Howard from Braintree CID said: “We’ve been working through the night to piece together what happened. While we’re still in the early stages, we don’t believe there’s any wider risk to the public.”
Officers are knocking on doors and patrolling the area. They urge anyone who saw the incident or spotted a vehicle with front-end damage to get in touch.
