Big Bust: £30K of Illegal Vapes and Tobacco Seized in Swindon Raid

Police have cracked down hard on unlawful trade in Swindon, seizing thousands of pounds worth of illicit vapes and tobacco from a local shop.

Swindon Store Raided in Multi-Agency Sting

On Wednesday, May 22, officers from the Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team, backed by neighbourhood officers, Immigration, and Trading Standards, swooped on Zabka Polski Sklep on Manchester Road. The raid uncovered a stash of illegal vapes and tobacco with a resale value topping £30,000.

Authorities also seized a vehicle linked to these illicit dealings, striking a blow against organised crime in the area.

Two Arrested, Premises Shut Down

Two people were arrested during the operation and have been bailed pending further investigation.

The shop has since been hit with a closure order, forcing it to remain shut for at least three months.

T/Insp Winter said: “The sale of such products brings anti-social behaviour and crime to the area. These illegal vapes are unchecked, often packed with harmful chemicals, posing serious health risks.

“They are sometimes used to exploit children, and we are determined to clamp down on this illicit trade. This crackdown also protects local retailers who play by the rules.”

Clear Hold Build Initiative Targets Organised Crime

This operation was part of the Clear Hold Build initiative in Broadgreen, a multi-agency programme fighting organised crime and aiming to strengthen community safety.

Wiltshire Police and partners remain committed to stamping out illegal trade, protecting public health, and supporting legitimate local businesses.
