Fake Cops Ram Van in B&Q Car Park Bust
Chaos erupted outside a B&Q near the Berkshire border when three men dressed as police officers rammed a white Peugeot van with a Land Rover, trying to break into it. The bizarre incident happened at 5.35pm on Tuesday, December 6, in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Drama in Farnborough Car Park
The men in the fake police gear repeatedly smashed the van. Inside, two men scrambled and fled the scene as the gang failed to get into the vehicle. The Land Rover, flashing fake blue lights, sped off shortly after.
Hampshire Police have since confirmed the gang were imposters and not real officers. They also recovered a “large quantity of cannabis” from the Peugeot.
Damage and Fear in the Community
The car park chaos left another vehicle damaged, a B&Q window smashed, and several bollards wrecked.
“We are aware that this incident may cause concern in the local community, but I would like to assure you that we are taking this report extremely seriously,” said Chief Inspector Emma Hart, District Commander for Hart and Rushmoor.
She added, “Officers are aware of a video circulating on social media and ask the public to refrain from speculation while our investigation is ongoing.”
