Murder Probe Launched After Daniel Rae’s Death in Treforest

Shock rippled through Treforest as South Wales Police launched a murder investigation following the death of 30-year-old Daniel Rae. The grim discovery happened in a house on Princess Street just before 8pm on Sunday.

Three Arrested in Connection with Murder

Detective Superintendent Mark O’Shea revealed the Major Crime Unit is leading the hunt for answers. Three suspects have been taken into custody: a 22-year-old man from Birmingham and a 33-year-old from Glyncoch, Pontypridd, both held on suspicion of murder. A 21-year-old woman was also arrested, suspected of assisting an offender and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Police Urge Public to Come Forward

Det Supt O’Shea stressed the attack was targeted and warned the public not to be alarmed, saying: “This is a contained incident, and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.” He urged anyone in Princess Street or nearby Broadway around 7:30pm Sunday, or those with any information, no matter how small, to get in touch.

Community Help Vital in Ongoing Investigation

Officers across South Wales are working tirelessly to find justice for Daniel Rae. The public is encouraged to submit any video footage from mobiles, CCTV, dash-cams, or doorbells that could aid the probe via the official police site: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/62SWP23B81-PO1.

Detective Superintendent O’Shea offered heartfelt condolences to Daniel Rae’s family and friends during this difficult time. The focus remains on gathering solid evidence to bring those responsible to justice.
