Catalytic Converter Thieves Flee Police in High-Speed Chase
At 9.40pm on Monday 29 March 2021, Kent Police sprang into action after spotting two men nicking a catalytic converter from a car in Kings Drive. The duo jumped into a getaway car driven by a third male and sped off.
Police Chase Ends with Arrests
Officers in an unmarked car tracked the suspects along the A2 towards Valley Drive. When police ordered the vehicle to stop, the driver sped off, sparking a daring pursuit.
Police deployed a stinger device to bring the vehicle to a halt on 1 Road. All occupants were arrested, and a stolen catalytic converter was found in the boot.
Three Arrested, Police Seek Witnesses
- A 15-year-old boy was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
- Two men, aged 24 and 20, were held over the catalytic converter theft but later released on bail.
