Man, 65, Dies After Head Injury at Hayling Island Restaurant

Tragedy struck at a South Hayling restaurant after a 65-year-old man died from a head injury. The victim was rushed to hospital but passed away before 10am on Saturday, November 4.

Emergency Called to Gandhi Restaurant

Ambulance crews were called to the Gandhi Restaurant on Hollow Lane at around 1am. Despite efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

Three Men Arrested Over Death

Police swooped and arrested three men, aged 32, 34, and 37, on suspicion of murder. The 34-year-old has since been released but remains under investigation.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detectives are urging anyone who was at the Gandhi Restaurant on Friday, November 3 to get in touch. They believe vital information could help the probe.

“We want to thank those who have already come forward,” said police, “and encourage anyone else who dined there to contact us.”
