Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail
A 49-year-old man from Dymchurch was arrested the following day in connection with the crash. He has since been released on bail while police continue their investigation. The horrific collision involved two vehicles—a red Citroen and a grey Peugeot van. The van reportedly fled the scene before emergency services arrived.
Family Mourns “Beautiful Boy” Taken Too Soon
William Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. His devastated parents, William Sr. and Laura Brown, are now pleading for justice. William Sr. described his son as “a beautiful boy” who was tragically killed while crossing the road to fetch his football.
Laura Brown told the BBC: “William was the sweetest boy in the world, so soft and gentle. Someone killed my son and left him in the middle of the road. Please help us find this person. I’m begging you. Do it for William.”
Kent Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
The suspect faces charges including causing death by dangerous driving, failure to stop, and perverting the course of justice. He is due back at the police station in March as inquiries continue.
