Wild 10-Mile Police Chase Ends in East Malling Crash and Arrests
A high-speed police chase tore through Kent in the early hours of October 15, ending in a dramatic crash and the arrest of two men. The pursuit began when officers spotted a motorist dangerously swerving along the A299 from Rochester, suspected of driving uninsured.
From Rochester to Maidstone: The Chase Across Kent
When the driver ignored attempts to stop, police launched a 10-mile chase hurtling down the A229 through Snodland, Leybourne, and Larkfield. The reckless driver took the chase onto narrow country lanes, even driving on the wrong side of the road. In a bizarre move, he sprayed officers with a fire extinguisher while speeding along.
Crash and Arrest in East Malling
The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle smashed into bollards on East Malling High Street. Officers arrested two men inside the wrecked car.
- A 21-year-old from Chatham faces multiple charges: dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving uninsured, driving without a licence, and possession of a Class A drug.
- A 20-year-old from the Isle of Sheppey was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
