Two Men Held Over Violent Rampage
Two males were arrested following a chaotic rooftop siege. They face charges including affray, criminal damage, assault on police, and causing a public nuisance. Road closures were put in place during the tense stand-off, causing major disruption.
Police Inspector Hospitalised After Head Injury
A police inspector was hurt during the incident and had to be hospitalised with head injuries. Thankfully, his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Robbery and Violence Linked to Siege
The suspects are also being investigated for robbery and actual bodily harm after stealing alcohol from a nearby shop. Two people were injured during the robbery and treated at the scene.
Police Chief Slams Disorderly Behaviour
Chief Inspector Glansfield, Humberside Police, said: “Incidents like this wreak havoc on our communities. Our officers acted swiftly, first responding to the reported robbery, then the rooftop siege at a property the men had no right to be in.
“These events drain vast resources to achieve a safe outcome and protect those nearby. The damage and distress left behind affect local residents deeply.
“One of our own officers was injured while doing his duty, and we will never tolerate such attacks on our people.
“I thank local residents for their patience during the disruption and encourage anyone with concerns or information to speak with our officers still on the scene.”
