Gun Gang Busted in Ballymoney Sting
Two suspects, aged 38 and 29, were snapped up in Ballymoney this morning (13 October) after a major joint raid by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and National Crime Agency (NCA).
Both are now in custody, facing intense questioning from NCA detectives. Meanwhile, cops are still searching properties in the town.
Dangerous Firearm Smuggling Thwarted
The arrests come hot on the heels of a Border Force seizure at an English parcel hub. Officials intercepted a package carrying a working handgun, two magazines, and over 50 rounds of ammo.
NCA Commander Vows to Crack Down on Gun Crime
“This is an excellent example of how the NCA, PSNI and Border Force are working together to prevent firearms making it on to our streets,” said NCA Belfast branch chief David Cunningham.
“Those wishing to bring firearms into our communities do so for one reason, to cause serious harm. Stopping the supply is a priority for us and we will do everything we can, with our partners, to bring those responsible to justice.”
