Crash chaos in Nottingham! Two rushed to hospital after Audi smashes into shop in New Basford.
Fiat and Audi collide on Nottingham Road
Just before 6pm on 8 March, emergency crews were scrambled to Nottingham Road, New Basford, after a Fiat Panda and an Audi S6 collided.
Audi ploughs into newsagent
The impact sent the Audi crashing straight into a local newsagent. Thankfully, no one inside the shop was hurt.
But two people in the Fiat were taken to hospital. Their injuries are serious enough for treatment but not life-threatening.
Building damage under assessment
Inspector Iain Blackstock from Nottinghamshire Police said: “Officials from the local council attended the scene and a structural engineer was called to assess the damage.
A scene remains in place while the building is made safe.”
