Knife-Wielding Man Attacks Police on De Beauvoir Estate Balcony
Police rushed to De Beauvoir Estate in N1 at around 2am on Friday, 10 March after reports of a man trying to force his way into a property. The caller feared the individual may have been experiencing a mental health crisis.
Officers Attacked, One Seriously Injured
When officers arrived, they found the man on the balcony. He launched an attack, stabbing and injuring both police officers. One officer suffered serious injuries. Both were rushed to hospital for treatment. A knife was recovered at the scene.
Suspect Flees, Manhunt Underway
The knife-wielding man managed to escape. Police have launched urgent enquiries to track down the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 449/10Mar.
