Hero Cops Save Man from Deadly Leap on A12
PC Kyle Simmons and PC Eugene Robinson were on a routine patrol when they got a tip off. A stolen car’s number plate lit up on the A12, traced back to a robbery in Romford.
High-Speed Drama at Junction 12
The officers found the car parked near a roundabout above Junction 12. A man was messing with the boot. As PC Simmons moved in, the suspect dashed towards the A12 bridge – then took a terrifying leap over the barrier.
Brave Chase and Life-Saving Rescue
Without hesitation, PC Robinson chased after him. Clinging to the man’s waistband, he stopped him from plunging onto the busy road below. With help from PC Simmons and a quick-thinking member of the public, they hauled the man back to safety and arrested him.
Police Praise: ‘Outstanding Courage’
“This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have had a tragic ending if it hadn’t been for PC Simmons and PC Robinson’s swift and decisive actions,” said CC Harrington.
“They put their own lives at risk to save the man’s life, despite his desperate attempt to flee. Both officers should be extremely proud. This was outstanding police work.”
