Wokingham Hit-and-Run Tragedy: Two Held After Fatal Crash

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man from Wokingham remain in custody after a hit-and-run on January 2 left a man dead.

Deadly Collision on A329 Reading Road

The fatal crash happened around 8:40pm near the junction with Larch Avenue. A pedestrian, a man in his forties, was struck by a black Toyota Yaris. The car did not stop and fled the scene.

Emergency services arrived quickly, but the pedestrian sadly died at the scene.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

“First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly died,” said Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby, lead investigator from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.”

“We’re also asking drivers with dash-cams in the area at the time to review their footage. It could be vital to our inquiry.”
