Two Held Over Fatal Stabbing in Peckham Rye Park

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder following a deadly stabbing in south London. Both suspects remain in custody at a local police station as investigations continue.

Victim Found Fatally Stabbed

Kalabe Legesse, 29, was found with a stab wound in Peckham Rye Park and Common just after 8.20pm on December 30. Emergency teams rushed to the scene but could not save him. He was pronounced dead at the spot.

Post-Mortem Confirms Cause of Death

The post-mortem examination on December 31 confirmed that Kalabe died from a haemorrhage caused by a stab wound to the heart.

Family Notified, Police Seek Witnesses

Kalabe’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. Police urge anyone who saw the incident or knows anything to call 101, quoting reference 6165/30DEC22.
