The Met Police were called to Royal Parade at 5:45am after reports of a punch-up and a car smash.
Sources say a young man was attacked before suspects jumped into a vehicle, which then crashed nearby.
The victim is now in stable condition in hospital. Police want anyone with info to call 101 quoting CAD: 1634/14AUG.
